Now in its eighth prize cycle, The 2020 Lush Prize offers a global prize fund of £250,000 across five award categories.
Shortlist & Winners
We have 58 shortlisted organisations and individuals from 21 countries – see the full shortlist.
The 2020 Winners will be announced Wednesday 11th November at the Conference and Awards Ceremony, which has been delayed since May due to Covid-19 and will now be an online event.
The Awards Ceremony will be at 4pm – 5pm (UK time), and we will announce registration details soon. We will be celebrating all of the winning and commended projects from this year and awarding prize money to scientists and campaigners from around the world to support their initiatives to end animal testing.
The 2020 Lush Prize Conference will be held online at 1pm – 3.40pm (UK time) on both Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th November.
The theme is ‘Can Big Data Replace Animal Testing?‘, and will include discussions on ‘Paving the way from big data to regulatory acceptance’, and ‘The role of big data in next generation risk assessment’.
Speakers will include winners from this year and previous years. See more details about the 2020 conference.
The good news about going online is that more people can virtually attend from anywhere in the world. The Conference is being held over two days to ensure more people from across differing time zones can participate.
For free attendance to the Conference, sign up here on Eventbrite and you will receive more details closer to the event.
Categories and Judging
Each category normally awards one (or possibly two) projects, with the Young Researcher Award funding up to five scientists.
For the 2020 panel of judges, we were delighted to have back as judges seven distinguished scientists and campaigners who have served in previous years, and welcome our Young Research judge, Lush Staff member judge and Lush Customer Judge.
