The Lush Prize

Lush Prize Winners 2020The Lush Prize offers a global prize fund to support initiatives to end or replace animal testing. It is the largest prize fund in the non-animal testing sector, with a prize fund of £250,000.

Nominations for the Lush Prize 2022 are now closed. The Lush Prize 2022 Conference and Awards Ceremony will be held online in November.

There are six prize categories: Science, Training, Public Awareness, Lobbying, Young Researcher and Political Achievement.

In addition, our panel of judges will award the Andrew Tyler Award for outstanding contribution towards ending animal testing.

At our judges’ discretion, the Black Box Prize is available, whereby the entire prize fund may be awarded for a key breakthrough in human toxicity pathways research.

Lobbying Prize

For exceptional individuals, groups or organisations pushing for change.

A non-financial ward for elected political officials at any level and in any country.

For individuals, teams or organisations establishing training programmes in using non-animal methods.

About The Prize

The Lush Prize rewards initiatives across science and campaigning that work to end or replace animal testing, particularly in the area of toxicology research.

There are five award categories: Lobbying, Training, Public Awareness, Science, and Young Researchers.

Between 2012 and 2020, Lush Prize has given £2.44 million to 120 winners in 28 countries (all continents except Antarctica!).

Lush Prize is now a biennial event and the next awards will take place in 2022. Read more about the Prize.
